About
“This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.”
The Guest House by Jalaluddin Rumi (translated by Coleman Barks)
Breathwork, when guided safely and genuinely, can lead you to a space that has always been there—but needed to be entered without judgement and expectation.
In this space, things that have been suppressed can start to resurface.
And it isn't about fixing or getting rid of what comes up, but establishing a sense of wholeness, integration and acceptance.
It may be profound—or it may not.
Either way, breathwork will allow you to lean into what it means to be human, expanding your capacity to be present for your whole life.
More about Conscious Connected Breath
At The Whole Breath, I facilitate Conscious Connected Breath, a circular breathing technique that involves no pauses between inhalation and exhalation.
CCB is linked to a suite of benefits, including:
a boost in oxygen levels promoting relaxation
a release in physical and emotional tension
improved mental clarity and awareness
enhanced overall well-being via improved sleep, digestion and mood.
Fundamentally, CCB supports bridging the gap between mind and body; as we breathe rhythmically and consciously, our brainwave patterns can shift.
We can enter altered states of consciousness, which grant us access to our subconscious, where conditioning and traumas reside, allowing for tender witnessing and processing. It is such a powerful tool and it can truly support you in the most tangible way.
More about Holly
“For most of my 20’s I travelled, mainly working in hospitality; something that I was never passionate about but funded global adventures, and was inherently quite good at as connection spills into everything I do.
The travel, of course, ground to a halt in 2020. The silver lining was that this allowed for roots to finally establish, and it happened to be in one of the most beautiful places; Queenstown NZ. And little did I know that this breathwork thing I had been dabbling in and exploring since 2018 would also start to hold me through the most tender travel to date: the travel into the depths of myself.
Breath by breath, space was created. Space for the integration of fragmented parts: to be more present with the light and dark, alike. Space for unconscious beliefs and patterns to be worked through, including those directly attributed to trauma. And space to access life well beyond healing: I started to challenge my incredibly brutal inner critic with self-belief, and meet hyper-vigilance and anxiety with assertiveness.
For me, the latter is where so much of the power lies. Because no matter where you are coming from or what you are looking for, there is so much to gain from the practice."
